Can I file for child support before divorce is final?

Under F.S. 61.13, the court may order child support payments before divorce is final or anytime during the divorce proceedings. Temporary child support ordered during the proceedings, like permanent child support, should be governed by the guidelines in F.S. 61.30. Most often, temporary child support payments are ordered by the court when voluntary support from the payer is insufficient or nonexistent.
