What assets and liabilities are considered marital in Florida?

Under Florida Statute 61.075 (6) (a) any asset acquired and any liability incurred throughout the duration of the marriage, either by one party individually or both parties jointly, is generally considered to be a marital asset or liability. There are some exceptions however, which are addressed in our response to another FAQ on this section of the website.
